Recap: Black and Blue Win For Black And Gold, Steelers Beat Bengals In Physical Contest
2+ week, 27+ min ago (415+ words) Coming off a tough road loss, the Pittsburgh Steelers returned home Sunday to face the Cincinnati Bengals for the second time this year. The Steelers won by a score of 34-12, now moving to 6-4 on the season. The Bengals won the coin toss and deferred, and the Steelers made an effort to get DK Metcalf involved early. He had a short catch to open the game, then caught a 17-yard pass a few plays later. Jaylen Warren ripped off a 35-yard run to put the Steelers in the red zone. Shortly after, Kenneth Gainwell caught a quick pass and got to the sideline, able to score from 11 yards out. Chris Boswell's extra point gave the Steelers an early 7-0 lead. The Steelers' defense forced a couple of third-and-longs. Yet, the Bengals managed to pick up each to start their first drive to…...
Depot After Dark: Watt Family Together, Players' Cleats, Steelers Help For Thanksgiving
4+ day, 19+ hour ago (409+ words) A Steelers Depot daily segment. A quick hit of some Pittsburgh Steelers-related stories that may not require a complete article, but nuggets worth mentioning and passing on to you guys. Your Depot After Dark for Nov. 25. There weren't many bright spots from the Steelers' loss to the Chicago Bears. However, T.J. Watt made a huge play when he sacked Caleb Williams and forced the ball out of his hands. The Steelers scored a touchdown on that play, and it gave them a lot of momentum. It also allowed Watt to pass his brother, J.J. Watt, on the all-time sack leaders list. That had to be a special moment for the whole Watt family. They were all in attendance, too. J.J. Watt shared some pictures on Twitter showing how special the game was for him and his family. He was in the broadcast booth…...
2025 Week 9 Steelers Vs Colts Live Update And Discussion Thread – First Half
4+ week, 4+ hour ago (277+ words) The Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting the NFL's top team at the midway point of the season and trying to prevent a three-game losing streak. The Indianapolis Colts have been a historically good scoring offense while the Steelers are proving to be a historically bad defense in terms of franchise history. What could go wrong? Perhaps back-to-back disappointing games have finally awoken the latent beast that everybody thought was there on Pittsburgh's defense. They will be contending with Daniel Jones and MVP candidate Jonathan Taylor to make it happen. It's arguably their toughest test yet when the defense is near rock bottom. Aaron Rodgers and the offense also hit a lull in the second half of last week's game against the Green Bay Packers. They are going to need to be on point to come out of Acrisure Stadium with a…...
2025 Week 13 Steelers Vs Bills Live Update And Discussion Thread – First Half
12+ min ago (331+ words) James Cook and the Bills rushing attack will be a top focus. If the Steelers are going to lose, they need to make sure it's Josh Allen's arm beating them. The Bills have surprisingly had struggles with downfield passing this season, much like the Steelers. If the Steelers want to take advantage of Buffalo's backup tackles, they have to stop the run. Pittsburgh will also have issues on its offensive line with Broderick Jones on IR and likely out for the season. Andrus Peat will fill in at left tackle, but that's one more concern for keeping Rodgers upright and healthy. If you have never joined us for a game thread before, welcome! With Tough Schedule, Queen Says Steelers 'Can Prove To The World Who We Are – Or We're Going To Fold"
5+ day, 10+ hour ago (476+ words) The Steelers have six games remaining, including four against one-time Super Bowl favorites, a chance to show they are contenders. Eleven games into the season, they very much control their own destiny, tied atop the AFC North. Of course, just a few weeks ago, they held a 3.5-game lead, but that was before they spiraled. Now 2-4 in their last six games, the Steelers are very much looking more like pretenders than contenders. But they have had some good games against the Colts and Bengals, and last week, they didn't have Aaron Rodgers. There is frustration in the locker room, but much of it stems from the belief that they're better than this. "We got some good teams coming up, ILB Patrick Queen told Mike DeFabo of The Athletic. "It's going to show us where we're at. We can prove to…...
Steelers Stock Watch - S Kyle Dugger
3+ week, 6+ day ago (380+ words) Player: S Kyle Dugger Reasoning: The Steelers just acquired S Kyle Dugger a few days ago, but he made an immediate impact on their defense. Coming over via trade, he played all but one snap and held his own. He even helped make some plays, including a third-down stop and a run stop. It remains to be seen whether Kyle Dugger will be the Steelers" every-down safety, as they worked with a M.A.S.H. unit this week. With DeShon Elliott on IR, Chuck Clark and Jabrill Peppers ill, and Juan Thornhill jogging, they needed bodies. They even moved Jalen Ramsey to safety, where he played nearly the entire game. And he played next to Kyle Dugger, who took the practice field for the first time on Thursday. In just that short amount of time, he managed to get the defense down well…...
2025 Week 10 Steelers Vs Chargers Live Update And Discussion Thread – First Half
2+ week, 6+ day ago (373+ words) The Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Chargers will kick off their Week 10 game at 8:20 PM/ET on NBC. The Steelers have an 0-2 record in primetime games entering this evening. They typically struggle in West Coast games, but they rarely do this poorly under the lights. While it's technically an away game, expect a dominant presence from Steeler Nation at SoFi Stadium. The matchup dominating the headlines has been the Chargers' offensive line versus the Steelers' pass rush. Los Angeles already had among the worst offensive lines in football at pass blocking, and that was before it lost Joe Alt for the season last week. OT Bobby Hart is also out for this game. Recent trade acquisition Trevor Penning, as well as Mekhi Becton in his return from injury, should help stabilize the Chargers' line a bit. They are still vulnerable…...
Steelers Stock Watch - P Corliss Waitman
6+ day, 9+ hour ago (316+ words) Player: P Corliss Waitman I'm sure not a lot of people are gnashing their teeth angry about Corliss Waitman today. But if one Steelers player was consistently bad in yesterday's loss to the Bears, it was him. Okay, he did fine as a holder on Christ Boswell's four extra points, I'll grant him that. But when it came to his primary job, he had maybe the worst game of his career. The first time Waitman punted, he boomed a 54-yarder down to the 10-yard line. A (perhaps questionable) penalty on the Steelers, however, forced a redo. His second punt? It went just 34 yards, out of bounds at Chicago's 40-yard line. And the Bears scored a touchdown five plays later. The Steelers proceeded to go three and out on their next drive, calling Corliss Waitman up to bat again. This time,…...
Steelers Stock Watch - S Juan Thornhill
2+ week, 5+ day ago (257+ words) Player: S Juan Thornhill Thornhill's demise in Pittsburgh isn't entirely his fault. When the Steelers signed him, he wasn't supposed to have that big of a role. They had Minkah Fitzpatrick and DeShon Elliott at safety; currently, they have neither. The Steelers traded Fitzpatrick for Ramsey, and Elliott is likely out for the season due to injury. But even without Fitzpatrick and Elliott, the Steelers still chose not to play Juan Thornhill recently. In fact, they chose not to play him with Chuck Clark and Jabrill Peppers also down. They traded for Kyle Dugger and forced him into action immediately on just two days of practice. And they moved Ramsey to safety, making his first-ever start there two games ago. Now, Thornhill had his spots here and there, let's not kid ourselves. He made some hard tackles. But he also…...
